This book was created as both an homage to graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister, and as a visual representation on design principles I've learned thus far. The book compares our lists of learned "rules" to live by; blank journal pages to promote self-reflection; and a marriage of digital and print accomplished through QR codes which link to external digital sources. After every seventh page, the page numbers restart at one, which is mean to be reflective of Sagmeister's reputation of taking a sabbatical every seven years.

Make features programming that ranges from crafts to home improvement to building one's own robots. The essence of Make is to create without boundaries and to encourage users to discover, explore and ideate. For the visual direction I emphasized a handmade feel, in a "made" (3D) environment.

Abigail Williams is the manifestation of a mono-type font that speaks of simplicity, architecture and innocence. I created it using variables of four simple shapes that were influenced by architectural form. To take the typeface a step further, my group combined our typefaces to create a letterpress poster (see Letterpress Poster).

I created a project that aided a user in committing a harmful act. [was this the goal?] The Autogone app allows users to scan and save keyless entry signals from vehicles which can be used to unlock the car allowing full access to the vehicle. Users can also track cars via GPS, so they will always know where the tagged cars are. The interface is darkened and dimmed so that mobile device’s visibility is minimized.

I created a video to reflect a new, personal experience. The project is my interpretation of an experience I had while at my brother-in-law’s house listening to his vinyl record collection for the first time. The live-action video carries a brown tint of vintage film, to mirror aged LP technology. I also created a 3D world to visualize how music can take listeners to another place.

My team and I had the privilege of working on a project for the Henry Ford Village senior living center, with the goal of maintaining focus on the quality and comfortable living found there. We emphasized the idea of comfort and tranquility within the imagery and movements, and our work is a testament to the overall execution and strategy of the campaign. As a result of the campaign, the senior center added some 30 jobs to their campus to keep up with the growth.

The project emphasizes the struggle between the designer/client relationship by comparing it to war scenes. The book starts with the composition heavily weighted on one side to show one dominant voice that overpowers the opposition. Throughout the book, the composition becomes more equal to represent the designer/client relationship becoming more balanced and understood.

My type team designed and created our own custom letterpress plate to make a poster that combined six typefaces together. We began by laser-cutting the letters to assemble them onto the print plate. After the plate was complete, we experimented with the printing process by utilizing different colors of ink and paper.
